ABSTRACT
Property tuning by fluorination is very effective for a number of purposes, and currently increasingly investigated aliphatic compounds. An important application lipophilicity (log P) modulation. However, the determination log P cumbersome non-UV-active A new variation shake-flask method presented, enabling measurement fluorinated compounds with or without UV activity regardless whether they are hydrophilic lipophilic. No calibration curves measurements compound masses/aliquot volumes required. With this method, influence on alcohols was determined, values carbohydrates were measured. Interesting trends changes, example, dependence relative stereochemistry, reported.
