ABSTRACT
Abstract Ion‐selective electrodes (ISEs) are widely used tools for fast and accurate ion sensing. Herein their design is simplified by embedding a potentiometric cell into paper, complete with an ISE, reference electrode, paper‐based microfluidic sample zone that offer the full function of conventional ISE setup. The disposable planar ion‐sensing platform suitable low‐cost point‐of‐care in‐field testing applications. symmetrical each interfacial potential within well defined reproducible, so response device can be theoretically predicted. For demonstration clinical applications, Cl − K + sensors fabricated highly reproducible linear responses towards different concentrations analyte ions in aqueous biological samples. single‐use devices scalable method, do not need any pretreatment prior to use, only require volume 20 μL.
