ABSTRACT
A series of new titanium (IV) complexes bearing tetradentate diamine‐diphenolates, homologous to [ONNO] salan type ligands: [Ti{2,2′‐(OC 6 H 2 –4,6‐ t Bu ) NHC 3 NH}(Cl) ] ( Cat1 ), 4 8 Cat2 and Cat3 were synthesized fully characterized by elemental analysis NMR spectroscopy. All three catalysts, after activation with ([Ph C][B(C F 5 ]) as a cocatalyst, exhibited high activities in 1‐decene oligomerization experiments. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) showed that molecular weight the obtained oligomers had close relationship employed ligand structures, so increasing length aliphatic linkage between nitrogen donor atoms, PDI M w / n shifted higher values. highest isotactic value (92% tacticity). Kinetic calculations allowed us formulate elementary reaction steps process 1‐decene. At viscosity characterization, KV 100 amounts 2.9, 3.9, 4.1 cSt determined for , respectively. High catalyst activity, capability producing PAOs < 6, less toxicity corrosiveness catalytic system (compared commercialized based on hazardous BF catalyst), simplicity preparation procedure are merits reported catalysts.
