ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to analyze the durability a plasma treatment on surface poly(lactic acid) (PLA). We used atmospheric‐plasma with air improve wettability PLA by evaluating aging effect under controlled conditions relative humidity (RH) and temperature (25% RH 25°C). studied measuring contact angle, calculating energy, observing changes in resistance PLA–PLA adhesive bonds. These techniques allowed us evaluate hydrophobic recovery phenomenon that suffered as consequence process. results provide maximum storage time treated atmospheric at which sample retained its good adhesion properties; lower than 3 days normal conditions. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
