ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT In this paper, the ability of chitosan film to remove dyestuff from wastewater was evaluated for environmental applications, using three commercial direct azo dyes. Two films were adopted: standard one prepared following a well‐known procedure form it, and novel one, with weakly acidic character. Moreover, improve adsorption process, hydrophobic character investigated. The pH dye solutions also changed, showing an excellent in removal at 12. characterized by means spectroscopic morphologic methods better understand nature interactions between dyes chains. Swelling ratio measurements performed. All analyses suggest that all showed strong affinity polymer chains, presence extended hydrogen bonds Van der Waals forces perturbing network. Interestingly, very good results obtained recycling experiments related dyeing capacities blended textiles. An ecofriendly application is thus presented paper. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl.
