ABSTRACT
Abstract The influence of 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TMSPM) on the properties epoxy‐based ZnO nanocomposite coatings was investigated, considering its impact both modified nanoparticles (NPs) and epoxy resin matrix. FTIR analysis revealed that TMSPM‐modified (mEP) exhibited lower hydroxyl group content compared to initial (EP). Furthermore, obtained results demonstrated incorporating NPs (m‐ZnO NPs) displayed superior mechanical those sample filled with unmodified (u‐ZnO NPs). However, loaded m‐ZnO were found be than comprising mEP NPs. arrangement anticorrosion performance followed a similar pattern. SEM cross‐cut surface better dispersion u‐ZnO NPs, although small gaps observed among images based indicated tighter structure. This structural characteristic is considered main reason for highest in investigated
