ABSTRACT
Despite advances in early detection and treatment, colorectal cancer remains one of the leading causes cancer-related deaths. The klotho (KL) gene plays a critical role development progression cancer. This study investigates KL by using CRISPR/Cas9 system to overexpress knock out (KO) human cells (Caco-2). effects changes were assessed expression analysis, flow cytometry, scratch wound closure assays, colony formation immunofluorescence staining. Our results showed that overexpression increased apoptosis decreased cell motility cells, whereas knockout had opposite role. present elucidates mechanisms underlying this highlights potential as editing tool research. data suggest activation may serve novel therapeutic strategy biomarker for studies
