ABSTRACT
Sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) may be successful in treating incapacitating faecal incontinence. The technique is expensive, and no cost analysis currently available. aim of this study was to assess clinical outcome analyse cost-effectiveness.Thirty-six consecutive patients underwent a two-stage SNS procedure. In the first stage, eight reported minor complications (pain, infection or electrode dislocation), resulting euro 4053 (range 2838-7273) per patient. For second stage (permanent stimulation), had an infection, pain loss effectiveness, 11,292 7406-20,274) Estimated for further follow-up 997 year. 5-year cumulative 22,150 patient, compared with 33,996 colostomy, 31,590 dynamic graciloplasty 3234 conservative treatment.SNS highly cost-effective treatment Options reduction include strict patient selection, outpatient setting using cheaper devices.
