ABSTRACT
Agastache rugosa Kuntze (Korean mint) is used as a spice and in folk medicine East Asia. The present study identified total of 18 polyphenols from the flower, leaf, stem roots this plant using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Fourteen these compounds had not previously been tissues. Each polyphenol was validated comparison with external calibration curves constructed structurally related compounds, determination coefficients >0.9993. limits detection quantification were 0.092-0.650 0.307-2.167 mg/L, respectively. Recoveries 61.92-116.44% observed at two spiking levels, 0.91-11% precision, expressed relative standard deviation (except anthraquinone spiked 10 mg/L). Hydroxycinnamic acid most abundant compound root, while flowers showed highest flavonoid level. Antioxidant activities, determined terms reducing power, Fe(2+) chelating activity radical scavenging activities α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl 2-2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid, increased concentration-dependent manner; stems, followed by leaves > roots. These findings indicate that A. good source bioactive can be functional food.
