Validation of a multisubstance online Timeline Followback assessment

ABSTRACT
The Timeline Followback (TLFB) was originally developed to assess alcohol consumption patterns (American Journal of Public Health, 86, 1996, 966) and has been increasingly modified for Web-based use. Additionally, new modes substance use administration have emerged, creating a need an adaptable TLFB tool than can capture data such as cannabis product potency or prescription drug Our goal validate online that reliably assesses wide range substances in greater detail.Using within-subjects counterbalanced design, daily were collected from 50 college students over 14-day retrospective period using both the traditional in-person (O-TLFB).All variables, including detailed measures metrics, correlated significantly (r's ranged .653 .944, p < .001) between versions. Further, results demonstrated concurrent validity with Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) Marijuana Dependence Scale (MDS).Overall, suggest this O-TLFB demonstrates strong reliability delivers versatile secure assessment is relevant variety biomedical psychological research contexts.
