ABSTRACT
Abstract The increasing focus on environmental sustainability has opened up a new area of research that explores the role green “human resource management (HRM)” practices. Scholars in this field are investigating how these practices can support efforts toward achieving sustainability. Although there is growing interest studying HRM practices, have only been few studies looked into affect abilities, experience, expertise, intelligence, knowledge, skills, and training employees relation to pro‐environmental behavior (PEB). This important as PEB help reduce negative activities promote hospitality sector. To bridge empirical gap, investigation effects was carried out, with particular emphasis mediating function human capital (GHC). A study conducted 269 stable participants Nigerian sector using “partial least squares [PLS]” approach. successfully shows such hiring, development, discipline management, performance, directly predict GHC. analysis based both PLS social cognitive theory (SCT). According study, connected through GHC, except for compensation. indicates be predicted by performance significant theoretical implications provides valuable insights managers. Moreover, it offers suggestions potential areas future research.
