Abstract Horizontal collaborations emerged as a new strategic option in the logistics sector during last decade. However, successful implementation of horizontal is far from developed issue due to several barriers that exist or emerge when setting up such collaborative projects. This study aims at identifying enabling factors supporting sector, and key success service providers (LSPs) should consider. Results within‐ cross‐case analysis two collaboration projects contract support proposed theoretical framework, highlighting both collaborations.
