ABSTRACT
New analogues of the toxin mycolactone have been identified in a pathogenic Chinese strain Mycobacterium ulcerans. They possess an extra methyl group at C2′ (shown red) compared to A as result recruitment single catalytic domain altered specificity polyketide synthase.
