ABSTRACT
Dysregulation of amyloidogenic proteins and their abnormal processing deposition in tissues cause systemic localized amyloidosis. Formation amyloid β (Aβ) fibrils that deposit as plaques Alzheimer's disease (AD) brains is an earliest pathological hallmark. The polysulfated heparan sulfate (HS)/heparin (HP) one the non-protein components Aβ deposits not only modulates aggregation, but also acts a receptor for to mediate cytotoxicity. Interfering with interaction between HS/HP could be therapeutic strategy arrest Here we have synthesized 6-O-phosphorylated oligosaccharides reported competitive effects on inhibition HP-mediated fibril formation vitro using thioflavin T fluorescence assay tapping mode atomic force microscopy.
