ABSTRACT
Abstract The Electrochemical Ethanol Oxidation Reaction (EOR) plays a pivotal role in next‐generation energy conversion devices. A clear understanding of the EOR reaction mechanism is critical for rational catalyst design, task complicated by numerous intermediates and pathways involved. To this end, situ Raman spectroscopy has proven invaluable identifying many such at electrode/electrolyte interface under varying applied potentials. Therefore, technique allows inference based on detected signals observed structural changes, positioning as one most suitable methods studying mechanism. In short review, with an eye towards future applications, we concentrate essential fundamentals highlight recent advancements spectroscopy.
