ABSTRACT
The use of graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) for the photocatalytic radical formylation anilines, which represents a more sustainable and attractive alternative to currently used approaches, is reported herein. Our operationally simple method occurs under mild conditions, employing air as an oxidant. In particular, chemistry driven by ability g-CN reach electronically excited state upon visible-light absorption, has suitable potential energy trigger formation reactive α-amino species from anilines. Mechanistic investigations also proved key role form superoxide radicals O2 via single electron transfer. Importantly, this transformation provides variety functionalized formamides (15 examples, up 89 % yield).
