ABSTRACT
Abstract Infrared vibrational spectroscopy was used to probe concentration‐dependent ion pair dissociation of imidazolium‐based ionic liquids with three different halide anions (I − , Br and Cl ) in deuterated chloroform. Dissociation the pairs at low concentrations found be easiest for liquid anion, most electronegative anion among investigated. This anomalous trend explained terms varying interaction strength between solvent (CDCl 3
