ABSTRACT
Layered organic polymers have intercalation capabilities and dynamic properties. In classical chemistry, the interlayer guests are intercalated in host layers via electrostatic interaction. The present work shows layered materials with host-guest interaction hydrogen bond. Polydiacetylene (PDA) exhibits color changes from blue to red application of external stimuli, such as thermal mechanical stresses. Here we report on a PDA containing 4,4'-bipyridyl space hydrogen-bonding guest. Whereas without guest transition at 65 °C, gradual two-stage reversibility observed temperature range -20-240 °C by introduction weaker bond promotes motion directing thermoresponsive wide range.
