ABSTRACT
Abstract The protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii is capable of infecting all warm‐blooded animals and humans. Infectious, transmissible forms the include oocysts produced by sexual cycle within definitive feline host tissue cysts that form in central nervous system muscle during asexual chronically infected hosts. These are populated with slow‐growing bradyzoites, which until recently have been thought to be dormant entities context immune sufficiency. Reactivation active growth suppression critical clinical importance. However, little known about or bradyzoites they house, as diversity cannot replicated cell culture systems. This protocol for optimization cyst purification from brains mice using Percoll gradients provides an efficient means recover vivo–derived can applied imaging, biological, biochemical, transcriptomic, proteomic analyses. © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
