ABSTRACT
Suicide is a major cause of death in adulthood and specifically patients suffering from mental illnesses. The Depressive Symptom Inventory Suicidality Subscale (DSI‐SS) widely used to detect prevent suicidal ideation. aim the present study was determine optimal cut points for DSI‐SS different populations. We analysed data one population‐based sample ( n = 532), outpatient 180) inpatient 244). Internal consistency, convergent validity according receiver operating characteristics were calculated. In all samples, we found excellent item‐total correlations internal consistencies DSI‐SS. Zero‐order between theoretically related constructs showed positive correlation coefficients, ranging 0.50 0.67. differentiated well with without suicide attempts sample, but less so only marginally sample.
