ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Nonsuicidal self‐injury (NSSI), which involves the deliberate destruction of body tissue without suicidal intent, is strongly associated with an increased risk later behaviour. Disclosing factors for NSSI therefore vital to prevent progression suicide. While documented evidence links childhood trauma, depression, social support, a comprehensive perspective that integrates these together lacking. To bridge this gap, we leveraged chain‐mediating model in study, examine mediating effect support and depression on relationship between trauma NSSI. As expected, behaviours were positively correlated scores ( r = 0.492, p adj < 0.001), 0.306, negatively −0.168, 0.020). Importantly, model, was decreased β −0.532, t −9.086, turn linked depressive symptoms −0.193, −2.957, 0.01), ultimately contributing greater odds behaviours. Our findings elucidated complex psychological mechanisms underlying interplay severity, suggesting improving intervening early may be potential ways reduce
