ABSTRACT
The congener analysis is routinely used for the determination of volatile compounds in body fluids and beverages forensic investigations. Although intoxications with cyanide via smoke inhalation or ingestion salts are frequently encountered medicine, inclusion hydrogen this was never studied detail. In work, a very simple, fast, sensitive quantification method headspace gas chromatography flame ionization detection whole blood-was developed validated. contrast to standard sample preparation analysis, an acidification step tartaric acid added. A limit 50 ng/ml, good linearity (coefficient correlation > 0.9997), high accuracy (101.5%-106.4%), precision (relative deviation 1.8%-3.7%) were achieved. Authentic blood samples 10 cases investigated new method. Furthermore, other (serum urine) diverse beverages. Interferences investigated, addition aldehydes produced clear concentration-dependent decrease signal. Besides, offers economical use limited material by simultaneous cyanide, ethanol, alcohols.
