ABSTRACT
In order to study the potential of producing glycerol monolaurate (GML) under a mild condition, enzymatic catalyzed glycerolysis in microemulsion system and molecular distillation were used produce monolaurate‐enriched MAGs from coconut oil. For process glycerolysis, catalytic abilities three lipases compared, reaction conditions studied. Moreover, evaporator temperatures two‐step distillations optimized. The results showed that suitable lipase was Novozym 435, optimum parameters molar ratio oil 1:4; concentrations 435 sodium (bis‐2‐ethyl‐hexyl) sulfosuccinate 8 16%, respectively; temperature 50°C. Under these conditions, with 240 min time, glycerides which contained 62.5% MAGs, 30.4% DAGs, 5.8% TAGs obtained. content GML 29.3% acid value (AV) 8.0 mg KOH/g. Then, by conducted at 90 120°C (0.5–1.0 Pa), efficiently increased 60.0 97.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, DAGs AV decreased 2.0% 0.02 Practical applications: Glycerol (GML), surfactant, has been widely as emulsifier preservative food industry. However, traditional production chemical esterification high is complicated energetically costly. proposed method provideds GML. first time produced its concentration investigated.
