Development of a Small‐Scale Coating Thickness Detection Robot for Plane Steel Gate Panel

ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT A small‐scale coating thickness detection robot with remote wireless control was developed to solve the problems of high labor intensity, safety hazards, and lack special automated equipment for plane steel gate panel detection. The adopted a chain mechanism permanent magnet realize adsorption crawling on vertical panels, 180° reversible bench designed conversion between operation cleaning operation. flexibility improved by x ‐axis z movement mechanism; it made capable adjusting position while parked. main posture analyzed, force driving torque were determined. system designed, crawling, adjustment, camera screen, data transmission display, so on, could be controlled page, making easy operate. Finally, verified that can stably adsorb crawl within load 2 kg, error does not exceed allowed range 5%, surface after brush meet requirements stability accuracy actual needs detection, replace manual reduce intensity further enhance development process intelligent in water conservancy industry. This study provide some help application this kind robot.
