ABSTRACT
Abstract Treatment for tumors depends on host immune system. The antitumor and immunoregulatory activities of Ulva lactuca polysaccharide (ULP) were evaluated in H22 tumor‐bearing mice cyclophosphamide‐induced immunosuppressed mice, respectively. structural properties ULP identified through multi‐angle laser light scattering, high‐performance liquid chromatography, Fourier‐transformed infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance. It was composed α‐D‐Man p ‐(1→, →2,4)‐β‐L‐Rha β‐D‐Glc A‐(1→, β‐Gal →2,4)‐α‐D‐Glc →6)‐β‐D‐Gal ‐(1→ with the molecular weight 1.46 × 10 5 Da. Its antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, effects determined. Liver tumor tissues collected histopathological, immunohistochemical, western blotting analysis. showed great growth inhibition 74.41% compared cyclophosphamide, which has side enhanced expression p53 to inhibit tumorigenesis, promoted activation IKKα , inhibited p65 within NF‐κB pathway. downregulating expressions PI3K / Akt mTOR promoting BAX Bcl‐2 ratio. TRAF2 TNF‐α CD31 VEGF achieved a direct killing effect cells proliferation by inhibiting angiogenesis, Moreover, increased levels immunoglobulin M total superoxide dismutase, decreased level methane dicarboxylic aldehyde, AKT p70S6k pathways. results that exhibited pronounced activity effect.
