ABSTRACT
Summary In this article, we describe a parallel adaptive mesh refinement strategy for two‐phase flows using tetrahedral meshes. The proposed methodology consists of combining conservative level‐set method with meshes within finite volume framework. Our algorithm applies cell‐based technique and adapts the according to physics‐based criteria defined by application. new adapted is obtained from manipulations an input mesh: operations coarsening until maximum level achieved. For elements, geometrical characteristics are taking into consideration preserve shape quality subdivided elements. present used simulation flows, surface tension, show capability accuracy 3D grids bring numerical research in context. Finally, applicability approach shown study gravity‐driven motion single bubble/droplet quiescent viscous liquid on regular complex domains.
