ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Staphylococcus aureus is a major food‐borne pathogen and easy to be induced into viable but nonculturable state under stress conditions from food processing, causing significant potential risk public health. In this study, the primers for femB gene were examined specific S . 10 μM of PMA was determined as optimal treatment concentration minimize PCR amplification signal produced by dead bacterial DNA. When ∼10 7 CFU/mL treated with sorbic acid, about 85% ATCC 6538 cells 76% ‐1 VBNC after 6 days, respectively. 1 mg/mL Fe 3 O 4 nanomagnetic beads, at 37°C min condition separate cells. The detection capability ‐PMA‐qPCR in rice, chicken, milk comparable DNeasy PowerFood Microbial Kit‐PMA‐qPCR, efficiency comparatively more excellent. Compared commercial established combined plating assay applied quantify inoculated samples, advantages specificity , short time, low cost, sensitive results.
