ABSTRACT
Long-term follow-up of 27 patients with hepatitis B virus-related chronic liver disease treated by transplantation showed that 23 had virus recurrence. In 13 late changes in the grafts were similar to those described other series: minor abnormalities five cases, active cases and non-hepatitis graft dysfunction three cases. Three incomplete histological follow-up. Analysis viral antigen expression six revealed a distinct novel pattern termed fibrosing cholestatic hepatitis. Development was associated rapidly progressive dysfunction. It is postulated this develops because high cytoplasmic antigens, including HBsAg. The remaining case some features main unique syndrome include thin, perisinusoidal bands fibrosis extending from portal tracts surround plates ductular-type epithelium; prominent cholestasis; ground-glass transformation; ballooning hepatocytes cell loss mild mixed inflammatory reaction.
