ABSTRACT
Computed tomography is useful for the diagnosis of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pneumonia. However, many types interstitial lung diseases and even bacterial pneumonia can show abnormal chest shadows that are indistinguishable from those observed in COVID-19 Thus, it necessary to identify biomarkers efficiently distinguish pneumonia-like diseases. Herein, we investigated usefulness serum Krebs von den Lungen 6 (KL-6) surfactant protein D (SP-D) identifying patients with among consistent pneumonia. This was a retrospective cohort study consecutive who underwent evaluation KL-6 SP-D at single center February 2019 December 2020. A total 54 65 were enrolled this source population. Serum levels both groups analyzed. The significantly lower than (median [interquartile range]: 208.5 [157.5-368.5] U/ml vs. 430 [284.5-768.5] U/ml, p < 0.0001 24.7 [8.6-51.0] ng/ml 141 [63.7-243.5] ng/ml, 0.0001, respectively). According receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, areas under ROC curves (95% confidence intervals) distinguishing 0.761 (0.675-0.847) 0.874 (0.812-0.936), respectively. The area curve larger (p = 0.0213), suggesting more diseases.Serum promising biomarker be management shadow mimicking
