ABSTRACT
Abstract Recent experiments on the observation of collisions single nanoparticles (NPs) with an electrode through amplification current by electrocatalysis are described. Systems in which particles adhere to upon collision produce a step and staircase response, while those only interact for short time spike or blip, little change steady state current. Examples both behaviors, e. g., Pt NPs Au hydrazine oxidation (staircase response) IrO x water (blip shown. Controlling nature surface is important generating useful responses, example, case gold oxidized borohydride oxidation.
