ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect 24% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) gel and 2% chlorhexidine (CHX) in dentin permeability smear layer removal from root canals instrumented with NiTi rotary system using histochemical staining scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. Overall, 43 premolars were classified into two experimental groups, EDTA (n = 20) CHX 20), a negative control (NC) 3). All specimens irrigant solutions used after each file change. group received final rinse 5-ml 1% NaOCl followed by 0.9% saline solution; 10-ml only solution. Fifteen teeth prepared for evaluation image-scanning software Axion Vision (v.4.8.2). Five remaining analysis SEM morphological found that increased all thirds evaluated also demonstrated an cleaning ability, dentinal walls free open tubules, as compared gel. It concluded efficient tubules permeability.
