ABSTRACT
Abstract Background The purpose of this publication is to report on the 12‐month clinical and radiographic results comparing surgical use Er,Cr:YSGG laser (ERL) minimally invasive technique (MIST) for treatment intrabony defects in subjects with generalized periodontitis stage III, grade B. Methods Fifty‐three adult (29 females 24 males; 19–73 years) 79 were randomized following scaling root planing (SRP) receive ERL monotherapy ( n = 27) or MIST 26). Fifty completed study. Recession (REC), probing depth (PD), attachment level (CAL), time, standardized radiographs assessed compared each group. Clinical measurements recorded at baseline, 4–6 weeks SRP, 6 12 months therapy. Radiographic baseline Results primary secondary outcome variables non‐inferior margins: CAL a non‐inferiority margin 0.7 mm p 0.05), PD REC 0.4 0.05). Standardized suggest similar bone fill 1.14 ± 1.73 1.12 1.52 ERL. Conclusions This first multicenter, randomized, masked, controlled study demonstrating not inferior terms outcomes defects.
