ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper gives an overview of theoretical and experimental results on Raman‐active optical phonon modes confined in nearly spherical nanocrystals (NCs) polar semiconductor materials with cubic crystal structure. A systematic consideration the effect reduced dimensionality both electrons phonons is presented. The approach based a continuum lattice dynamics model effective mass approximation for electronic states NCs. Calculated resonant non‐resonant Raman scattering spectra are compared to data stressing effects confinement, type excitation, polaron correction exciton spectrum enhanced because dimensionality, individual features NC material.
