ABSTRACT
Abstract We have successfully developed a quarter‐wave retardation film (QWF) for wide viewing angle 3D liquid crystal displays (3D‐LCDs) that provides high luminance, low crosstalk, color change, and head‐tilt‐angle dependency. It was found the out‐of‐plane (Rth) of QWF in LCD needs to be close 0 nm order improve display properties at an off‐axis position in‐plane (Re) adjusted from 120 130 achieve change with head tilting. adopted coating process making our because its potential control. 3D‐LCDs this whose Rth nearly zero had performance allowed other than on‐axis.
