ABSTRACT
Abstract Background and Objectives To analyze evaluate the impact of preoperative transcatheter rectal arterial chemoembolization (TRACE) with concurrent chemoradiotherapy on surgery prognosis locally advanced cancer (LARC). Methods A total 118 patients LARC were enrolled in this nonrandomized prospective study. They assigned into experimental group receiving TRACE (TRACE‐CRT group, N = 60) control only neoadjuvant (CRT 58). All underwent after their treatments. Results successfully completed surgical operation. No significant differences found sphincter preservation rate R0 resection between TRACE‐CRT CRT ( p > 0.05). two groups terms perioperative indicators postoperative complications except mean operation time (165.8 vs. 196.6 min, < 0.001). Local recurrence occurred 8 5 patients, respectively Distant metastasis 11 Conclusions Adding standard treatment for did not increase complications. In addition, it has potential advantage preventing distant metastasis. It is worthy further application promotion clinical practice.
