ABSTRACT
Objectives/Hypothesis To compare effect of 1 and 2 mg/kg sugammadex on the incidence intraoperative bucking neuromonitoring (IONM) quality in thyroid surgery. Study Design Randomized controlled trial. Methods Patients qualified for surgery with IONM were eligible this double‐blind, randomized, After tracheal intubation 0.6 rocuronium, or was administered to patients group I II, respectively. The external branch superior laryngeal nerve (EBSLN) evaluated (strong/intermediate/weak). initial amplitude electromyography vagus (V1) recurrent (R1) recorded. Intraoperative movements Results A total 102 (51 each group) completed study. Time from administration checking EBSLN not different between II (25.0 ± 7.9 vs. 25.5 9.0 minutes, P = .788). There no difference (strong/intermediate/weak: 46/5/0 50/1/0, .205). amplitudes V1 (1,086.3 673.3 μV 1,161.8 727.5 μV, .588) R1 (1,328.2 934.1 1,410.5 919.6 .655) comparable groups. who experienced significantly fewer than (13.7% 35.3%, .020).
