ABSTRACT
Abstract China' Loess Plateau, which was once dominated by sloping fields with poor farming conditions and serious soil erosion, has experienced a series of ecological programs. This article sought to explore the impacts programs on land use ecosystem services in typical catchment China's Plateau from 1984 2017, thus understand what needs be improved for future The findings showed that: (a) Due implementation various programs, structure optimized, vegetation coverage significantly increased, especially implement Grain Green (GFG) Program. (b) change total service value (ESV) presented U‐shaped curve. ESV decreased under Comprehensive Management Small Catchments Program, increased since GFG. rapid increase stage can traced effects Gully Land Consolidation reflecting time lag effect improvement services. (c) were significantly, except food provisioning (FPV). abandonment croplands without consolidation determined decline FPV, implying necessity land‐use efficiency boost. Our research proposed build up an actor network integrate local governments, rural cadres, villagers, enterprises, natural resources, into ensure restoration activate factors production, securing sustainable development Plateau.
