ABSTRACT
A low molecular weight hydrazide compound, tetramethylenedicarboxylic di (2-hydroxybenzohydrazide) (TMBH), greatly improves the crystallization rate and crystallinity of poly(l-lactide) (PLLA). The nucleating efficiency TMBH on PLLA exhibits obvious concentration dependence, which increases first then decreases slightly with increase loading, reaching a maximum at 0.3 wt%. Time-resolved Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectra indicate that formation skeletal conformational ordering structure has been accelerated in presence TMBH, can act as efficient precursors speeding up both nucleation surface intrachain 103 helix structure. possible hydrogen bonding interaction between OH or NH groups CO backbones is supposed to be an important factor, promotes migration chains crystallites emergence interchain interactions well ordering.
