ABSTRACT
Abstract In modern polymer chemistry directed toward the synthesis of conjugated materials, synthetic routes devised to achieve process sustainability are based on CH bond activation. This prerequisite distinguishes both tandem Suzuki−Heck as well direct arylation polymerizations (DArP); however, their compatibility with environmentally benign solvents still represents a challenge. this paper, implementation sustainable for poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorenylene‐vinylene) by using traditional Pd(AcO) 2 /P( o ‐Tol) 3 /NEt catalytic system is described. It assessed that selected green (i.e., anisole and propylene carbonate) constitute ideal media Suzuki–Heck polymerization. Furthermore, modulating medium polarity mixtures these changing reaction temperature, suitable compromise between high molecular weights regioregularity resulting polymers reached. Conversely, presence carbonate deleterious DArP 2‐bromo‐3‐hexylthiophene, while it found catalyst performances in strictly depend palladium source used. The best conditions obtained PdCl (PPh ) precatalyst, affording highly regioregular (93%) poly(3‐hexylthiophene) quantitative yields (26.7 kg mol −1 ).
