ABSTRACT
Abstract In the present work, contact electrification of polymers that differ in adhesion strength is studied. Electrical current measured along with macroscale contacting‐separation experiments. Additionally, local and roughness are studied atomic force microscopy to get deeper insight into relations between surface properties electrification. Measurements reveal higher charge formed on more adhesive surfaces, thus confirming covalent bond cleavage as a mechanism for polymers. Investigated materials possess enhanced making them attractive candidates conversion mechanical energy electrical triboelectric nanogenerator devices.
