ABSTRACT
Abstract The strength of the ceramic layer formed during ablation silicone rubber composite is closely related to its resistance ablation. Increasing content graphitic carbon in plays a key role enhancing layer. In this study, series catalytically graphitized mesophase pitch‐modified composites with excellent performance are prepared. And average linear rate reduced maximum 0.046 mm s ‐1 , which 44.0% lower than that sample without catalyst named 5MP. XRD characterization proves addition transition metal catalysts increases layers after 0.13Fe 2 O 3 reached 12.09 MPa, 60.3% higher effectively layers, and strengths significantly improved, thereby greatly improving composites.
