ABSTRACT
Abstract Summary: An electrospun nonwoven fabric of a cationic polysaccharide, chitosan, was successfully prepared. The present study focuses on the effect electrospinning solvent and chitosan concentration morphology resulting fabrics. solvents tested were dilute hydrochloric acid, acetic neat formic acid trifluoroacetic acid. As increased, deposition collector changed from spherical beads to interconnected fibrous networks. addition dichloromethane chitosan‐TFA solution improved homogeneity fiber. Under optimized conditions, homogenous (not interconnected) fibers with mean diameter 330 nm Effects coexisting (MC) in prespun fibers. volume ratio TFA:MC 70:30 (×5 000). magnified image
