ABSTRACT
Abstract Electrospun polystyrene (PS) fibers are produced using a mixed solvent of chloroform and n,n‐dimethylformamide (DMF) to investigate the influence ratio on fiber surface morphology contact angle obtained mats. Electrospinning is simple processing technique for producing with diameters in range nanometers few micrometers. When different ratios this process, porous PS membranes created due nonsolvent thermally induced phase separation (N‐TIPS). The analyzed through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which showed that have between 200 nm 6 µm. SEM also revealed pores present vary from densely compacted well‐formed nanopores 20–50 larger sizes ≈100–200 nm. pore size varied ratios. area Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method found polymeric high (≈35 m 2 g −1 ). such highly hydrophobic, higher than 143°. These materials excellent candidates applications textiles, filtration, biomedical fields.
