ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT A planar triple‐band antenna with size 40 × 18 0.8 mm 3 for LTE/GSM/UMTS and WLAN/WiMAX is developed in this article. The constructed four steps. first step named Ant1. In one side of the substrate, a nonfolded strip connected ground plane rectangle patch at both end strip, respectively. Ant1 fed by T‐strip, which other substrate. generates two modes 2.8 1.97 GHz responsible operation band 1.25–3.65 GHz. second Ant2. On basis Ant1, changed into folded strip. Two new resonant 680 MHz 5.8 are introduced. Ant2 (660–1120 MH) (1.71–3.85 GHz). third Ant3. Ant2, branches (Br‐1, Br‐2) Br‐1 Br‐2 same plane. Then (5.15–6.17 GHz) added on fourth Ant4. slot etched from rectangular patch, impedance greatly improved three bands. As result, covering LTE 700/2300/2500 (1710 −2690 MHz)/GSM 850/900/(690–960 1800/1900/UMTS (1710–2170 MHz)/WiMAX 3.5 (3400–3650 MHz)/5.4 (5250–5850 MHz) formed. gain proposed 1.2–4.2 dBi, radiation efficiency about 67–95%. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
