ABSTRACT
AbstractMiniaturized single‐/dual‐band bandpass filters (BPFs) are proposed in this paper based on one single grounded square patch (GSP) resonator. The GSP resonator is realized by introducing ring‐shaped metallic vias at the center of a patch. Owing to this specific geometry, an additional mode nominated as LC mode is generated, which makes the proposed GSP resonator operate below the fundamental resonate frequency of the non‐grounded patch, thus miniaturization has been achieved. In addition, several slots are etched on the GSP resonator to serve as perturbations and control bandwidths (BWs) and center frequencies of the filter. As a result, the designed filters have featured both compact size and independent controllability. Moreover, single‐ or dual‐band BPF can be realized by changing the location of the input/output feedlines. For demonstration, the proposed filters have been fabricated, and the measured results agree with predicted responses.
