ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT A high efficiency three‐way power combiner used in solid state amplifier (SSPA) is proposed this letter. The a six ports circuit composing of cover plate, PCB and base which can achieve signals combining with broadband isolation. Compared the existing combiner, branch microstrip lines are adopted instead isolation resistors between lines, structure avoid resistance loss improve efficiency. From measured results, less than 4.8 ± 0.2 dB three equivalent insertion losses, more 21 return loss, better 19 from 6.5 to 8 GHz be achieved. Further processing testing back‐to‐back samples were carried out, reached over 94.4%. Based on 200 W solid‐state was developed DC 37.5%.
