ABSTRACT
Purpose The Fricke dosimeter has been shown to be a viable option as an absorbed dose standard. This work aims provide the distribution in irradiator container during blood irradiation using dosimetry. Methods Measurements were performed Gammacell Elan 3000 at Hemocenter Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A specific phantom was constructed and patented by authors perform these measurements. solution prepared according international protocols, polyethylene bags filled with (n = 19) spatially distributed within phantom. Control also submitted same process, except irradiation. time calculated give 25.7 Gy central portion of phantom, used for bags. Results Encouraging results obtained overall uncertainty 2.1% (k 1). compared doses physicist from based on parameters provided manufacturer. mean delivered bag center (cavity 2) 28.7 ± 0.5 Gy, which is 12% higher than planned Gy. Conclusions showed that setup (Fricke phantom) able dosimetry irradiators. expected. highlights importance controlling all ensure correct irradiated
