1H and 13 C NMR assignments for two lignans from the heartwood of Streblus asper

Abstract In our ongoing investigation of the bioactive constituents from plants, two new lignans, magnolignan A‐2‐ O ‐β‐ D ‐glucopyranoside and strebluslignanol were isolated heartwood Streblus asper , along with three known A, magnolol, magnaldehyde D. 1D 2D NMR experiments, including COSY, HMQC, HMBC, other spectroscopic methods, UV, IR, MS used for determination structures assignments. Primary bioassays showed that have medium cytotoxic activity against HEp‐2 HepG2 cells, IC 50 13.3 µ M 46.4 10.1 21.7 respectively. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
