Swan neck deformities in rheumatoid arthritis: a qualitative study on the patients' perspectives on hand function problems and finger splints

ABSTRACT
To identify hand function problems and the reasons for choosing a specific finger splint in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) swan neck deformities. A qualitative study was performed alongside randomized, controlled cross-over trial comparing effectiveness of two types splints (the silver ring [SRS] prefabricated thermoplastic [PTS]) 50 RA Questions on patients' main problem type were at baseline after using each splint.
