ABSTRACT
To examine the characteristics of first Advanced Practice Nurses in France and to compare French model international standards. Common barriers facilitators their integration healthcare provision have been identified internationally. In France, legislative framework was introduced 2016, graduates entered workforce 2019. The examined comparison with Hamric's conceptual International Council Nurses' guidelines definitions. A cross-sectional survey also conducted, using three self-administered online questionnaires. Two were distributed 2019 2020 a third accredited programme directors. advanced practice nursing described compared based on employment status field (primary vs secondary/tertiary care). Although meets primary criteria core competencies, it does not differentiate between Nurse Practitioner Clinical Specialist roles. Of 320 students enrolled one 11 training programmes 165 participated survey. Mean age 40, mean prior experience 15 years. By February 2021, 30% respondents still employed as Registered Nurses.
